Module Description:
This module provides techniques and strategies that clinicians and program administrators can use to enhance methadone and buprenorphine maintenance treatment.  This affirmative approach aims to improve the experience of both the patients and the staff by encouraging positive interactions between staff and patients and among the patients in an effort to develop a recovery community.  Methadone patients often feel isolated and have limited opportunities for sober social support.  This presentation directly addresses some of the limitations of the modality and provides ideas and options to clinicians to combat the stigma long associated with maintenance treatment by integrating peer services into treatment.
